On October 16, the Kazakhstan Medicine Days in Uzbekistan concluded in Tashkent. This major event brought together leading medical specialists from both countries.
The forum “Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan: Cooperation in Healthcare, Technology, and Human Resources” served as a platform for sharing experience and strengthening partnerships.
New Agreements and Research
The University Medical Center (UMC) and the Republican Cardiology Center of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to conduct a joint study on atherosclerosis — the first project of its kind in Central Asia.
Another memorandum was signed between UMC and Ezgu Niyat Clinic to collaborate on the development of educational programs.
Master Classes and Knowledge Exchange
UMC specialists held lectures, seminars, and master classes in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Nukus.
More than 300 participants attended the lectures, around 40 patients received consultations and medical assistance, and several surgeries were performed — including 3 pediatric gynecology operations and 2 TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) procedures.
Experts from the UMC Heart Center presented the latest innovations in the treatment of heart diseases.
An Inspiring Story
A patient from Uzbekistan suffering from severe heart failure underwent treatment at the UMC Heart Center in August 2025, where he received an artificial circulatory support system.
After successful rehabilitation, he returned home with renewed energy for life. During the forum, the patient received a follow-up examination from his treating physician, Dr. Nail Khisamutdinov.
Looking Ahead
Professor Yuri Pya presented UMC’s achievements and proposed the creation of a Central Asian Network for the Development of Transplantology — aimed at uniting efforts and advancing joint scientific projects.
The Kazakhstan Medicine Days demonstrated that by combining science, experience, and innovation, we strengthen public health and save lives.
