Residency – a form of obtaining postgraduate advanced medical education in clinical specialties.
The previous level of education of persons wishing to master the educational programs of residency should be basic medical education, higher medical education, internship. The duration of the development of the educational program of the residency, depending on the specialty and previous training, is 2-3 years.
UMC Department of Education implements residency programs in the following clinical specialties:
The cost of studying at the UMC residency is 1,398,900 tenge for each academic year.
Accreditation of educational activities
In November 2018, UMC passed institutional accreditation with an independent education quality assurance agency. The special commission, which paid particular attention to the material and technical base and the high level of the teaching staff, decided on the compliance of the educational institution with all the requirements.
In December 2020, UMC passed an international specialized accreditation. UMC is accredited for 5 (five) years for educational residency programs in the following specialties:
− 7R09110 – Oncology and hematology for children;
− 7R09119 – Nephrology for adults, children;
− 7R09110 – Radiation diagnostics (Radiology);
− 7R09105 – Anesthesiology and intensive care for adults, children;
− 7R09103 – Pediatric surgery;
− 7R09111 – Pediatrics;
− 7R09108 – Neonatology;
− 7R09101 – Obstetrics and gynecology for adults, children;
− 7R09106 – Medical Genetics;
− 7R09104 – Clinical Pharmacology;
– 7R09107 – Neurology for adults, children.
