On October 17–18, 2025, the Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Kazakhstan was held in Astana, addressing current issues of women’s health at all stages of life.
The Congress covered key areas in the development of obstetric and gynecological care, including the organization of obstetric and gynecological services in Kazakhstan, preconception preparation, current aspects of perinatology, extragenital pathology and pregnancy, emergency conditions in obstetric practice, fetal medicine, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, as well as gynecological endocrinology.
During the Congress, it was noted that since
gaining independence, Kazakhstan has achieved significant progress in
protecting maternal and child health.
Infant mortality has decreased by a factor of 6.5, and maternal mortality by a
factor of 4.5.
Today, there are 22 fetal care centers and 18 day clinics operating across the
country. The fields of fetal medicine and fetal surgery are actively developing
in leading centers in Almaty and Astana.
The Congress brought together representatives of leading medical universities, research institutes, clinics, public and professional organizations. Experts from the UMC Center for Maternal and Child Health delivered lectures and presentations, and fetoscopic surgeries were performed as part of the forum.
The event served as an important professional platform for exchanging experience, discussing innovative approaches, and strengthening cooperation in the field of women’s reproductive health protection.
The Organizing Committee of the Congress expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement, high professionalism, and contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s obstetric and gynecological service.
