UMC Mother and Child Center held an event dedicated to World Arthritis Day – Arthritis Day: Knowledge, Support, and Communication.
The event aimed to bring together physicians from various specialties, patients, and their families to raise awareness of joint diseases and strengthen continuity between pediatric and adult rheumatology care.
More than 150 specialists participated in the event, including rheumatologists, internists, radiologists, physical therapists, psychologists, and nurses.
Leading UMC experts, including Ernas Tuleutayev, MD, PhD, Tatyana Ivanova-Razumova, MD, PhD, and rheumatologists M.K. Asylbekova, R.M. Aitzhanova, and Z.S. Mukusheva, delivered presentations and master classes. Of particular interest were presentations on modern approaches to the treatment of juvenile idiopathic and rheumatoid arthritis, visual diagnostics of joints, and the psychology of chronic pain. The practical portion of the program was complemented by master classes on intra-articular and subcutaneous injections of biological agents.
At the same time, the younger guests enjoyed art and storytelling therapy, sculpting, and games with animators, as well as sessions with a physical therapy instructor and a psychologist.
Such initiatives help bring professionals together, share experiences, and create a supportive atmosphere for patients with chronic rheumatic diseases.
At the end of the meeting, the participants summarized the results and discussed prospects for further development of interdisciplinary collaboration in rheumatology.
