Analysis results On December 5 and 6, the First Kazakhstan Symposium “Peritoneal dialysis in the Republic of Kazakhstan – 15 years” was held at the University Medical Center. Foreign colleagues from near and far abroad, doctors of regional centers, specialists of UMC clinics took an active part.
The speakers presented their experience in surgical implantation of a peritoneal dialysis catheter to children and adult patients, analyzed clinical cases from medical practice, talked about the features of nursing care and the importance of infection control and prevention of infections, shared the successes and achievements of patients after kidney transplantation in children.
A round table was also held at which invited speakers made presentations and presented reports on peritoneal dialysis, possible complications, standards of renal replacement therapy, and nursing management of dialysis patients.
