Analysis results From September 7 to 12, the transplant surgeon of the Department of Inpatient Surgery of the UMC Mother and Child Center, Ghani Kuttymuratov, completed an internship at the Research Center for Organ and Tissue Transplantation of the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Iran.
The purpose of the internship is to develop theoretical and practical skills in research work on animals, as well as to learn the experience of organ donation development in the Republic of Iran.
Shiraz is the first city in Central Asia in terms of the number of operations on organ transplantation. Up to 1300 such surgeries are performed in Shiraz annually, 90% of them from a posthumous donor. The average time in the waiting list for a donor organ is 8-12 months.
