The modern innovative clinics in Kazakhstan, which are part of the Corporate Fund “UMC” - the Republican Diagnostic Center and the National Center for Children's Rehabilitation, have again confirmed compliance with international standards and successfully passed the JCI re-accreditation procedure.
It should be noted that the Republican Diagnostic Center of the CF "UMC" was the first outpatient organization in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, which in 2014 successfully passed accreditation for outpatient organizations according to JCI standards. And the National Center for Children's Rehabilitation of the CF "UMC" is the only rehabilitation center on the territory of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, which has been accredited for organizations providing long-term medical care under JCI standards.
JCI or the Joint Commission International is the largest international organization in the world that promotes the highest quality of patient care and safety in medical organizations. JCI accreditation is considered as a "gold standard" in the field of healthcare. This is the highest standard of quality and safety that a medical organization can get.
The JCI certificate was provided to the UMC centers after intensive inspections conducted by internationally respected auditors. They examined almost every clinic's closet. The auditors were not satisfied with the inspection of only clinical units, analysis procedures, medical and rehabilitation practices, and also carefully examined the infrastructure and facilities at the disposal of patients and hospital personnel, including parking, supply systems (water, oxygen and energy, waste disposal and .d.), as well as laboratories, pharmacies.
The accreditation procedure is based on a long list of approximately 1300 standards, divided into 16 chapters, which were preliminarily identified in two main areas:
clinical standards: a direct treatment process, including international safety requirements, procedures for examining and treating patients, the safety of anesthesia and surgical operations, the prevention of infectious diseases and the organization of drug treatment at the center.
Management standards: organization of the work of the center as a medical organization, including recruitment and training of personnel, infrastructure management, and information management.
As a result, the clinics of the CF "UMC" were successfully tested, having received an excellent assessment of compliance with standards that were verified during the inspection. This is an exceptionally high score on an international scale!
The availability of JCI accreditation is regarded as a guarantee of citizens' trust in the country and will open access to the international market of medical tourism.
