The main activity is clinical laboratory diagnostics according to the approved list of laboratory services rendered within the framework of the guaranteed amount of free medical care (GAFMC) and on a paid basis.
The Center for Laboratory Medicine is one of the largest laboratories in the Republic of Kazakhstan, accredited in 2013 by the International Quality and Safety Standard of Joint Commission International (JCI) (“gold standard” in medicine).
In the beginning of the year 2016, the laboratory successfully passed the accreditation in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 15189: 2012 “Medical laboratories. Specific requirements for competences”.
The laboratory is equipped with modern laboratory equipment of global producers and performs the functions of a centralized laboratory for the UMC’s clinics. Most of the activities are integrated with the regions of the republic and healthcare organizations of the city and insurance companies.
The Center for Laboratory Medicine provides a wide range of research (more than 600 titles) for all directions of laboratory diagnostics. The implementation of new and innovation technologies, the standardization of all processes and the performed services significantly improved the quality of the medical care and ensure the safety of patients.
Earlier, ordering rare and complex analyzes for patients, they were forced to go abroad, and now these tests can be performed and obtained in our laboratory.
Also, our Center for Laboratory Medicine is the only one that conducts bacteriological research using mass spectrometry, which reduce the time of results delivery to 2-3 days, it is especially important in determining the causes of infections and prescribing antibiotics.
The Center for Laboratory Medicine provides accessibility to complex, rare and high technology research.
• Conducting planned research 7 days a week, from 08-00 to 20-00, including microbiological research.
• Visiting hours from 08-00 to 16-00 on weekdays, and from 08-00 to 13-00 on weekends and public holidays.
